Badshah Reveals “Self-Centred” Honey Singh Dodged His Calls, Made Him Sign Blank Papers
Badshah recently opened up about his conflict with fellow rapper Honey Singh, calling him a “self-centred” person.
Rapper Badshah, known for songs like ‘Kar Gayi Chull’, ‘DJ Waley Babu’, ‘Mercy’ and ‘Jugnu’, recently opened up about the band Mafia Mundeer. The band, which consisted of Badshah, Honey Singh, Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil' Golu, garnered a massive fan following after releasing songs such as ‘Khol Botal’, ‘Begani Naar Buri’, and ‘Delhi Ke Deewane’. Badshah revealed that initially it was just him and Honey Singh in the group, but later, a conflict arose between them when Honey decided to pursue a solo career.
Badshah recently also opened up about Honey Singh, calling him “self-centred” and neglecting the other members of the music collective.
On Raj Shamani’s podcast, Badshah said, “Mafia Mundeer was a thought, and like-minded people got together. Primarily it was just me and Honey. In 2009, there was a break between me and Honey. I used to do a job and I was very scared.”
He added, “Honey was also off my radar and when I tried calling him, he dodged my calls. But till the time we were in Mafia Mundeer, we never met. If we had met, maybe things would have been different.”
Opening up about his rift with Honey Singh, Badshah mentioned that Honey seemed to be solely focused on his own career, and had become “self-centred”.
Badshah said, “We made songs but they were not released. Honey was just concentrating on his career. I was associated with Mafia Mundeer since 2006, and by 2009, my parents were very worried about me. In 2011, my first song with Honey came out– ‘Get up Jawani’.”
Badshah further spoke about the tough phase in his life. He said, “We are also creating so many songs, please consider us as well. We have left everything behind and come here. You (Honey Singh) should not be so self-centred. On one hand, you call us brothers, but on the other, you fail to acknowledge our struggles. He made us sign blank papers; what about those contracts? It was a tough phase.”
As per several reports, Badshah and Honey Singh were close friends, but their relationship took a turn when Badshah left Mafia Mundeer. Eventually, other members also left, leading to the band’s breakup in 2012.
