Actor Bobby Deol continues to win praise for his performance as a mute man named Abrar in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal'. In the latest entertainment news, Bobby Deol has revealed the reaction of his family to his performance in the new Hindi movie, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Triptii Dimri. Bobby Deol said that his father Dharmendra and his elder brother Sunny Deol are yet to watch the film. Bobby Deol also said that his mother was conflicted about the super violent film, in which he plays the main antagonist.
“My mom couldn’t handle my death scene. She was like, ‘Aisi film mat kiya kar tu, mujhse nahi dekha jaata. I told her, ‘Look, I’m standing in front of you, I just played a part’. But she’s very happy… The amount of phone calls she’s getting, all her friends want to meet me. Something similar happened when Aashram released," Bobby Deol said in an interview with Pinkvilla.
2023 has been a phenomenal year for the Deol family. First, it started with Dharmendra's role being appreciated in Karan Johar's 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'.
Then, Sunny Deol gave a monstrous hit in the form of 'Gadar 2', and the film is currently the second-highest grossing Hindi film of all-time.
Talking about 'Animal', the new Hindi movie has made Rs 481 crore globally so far, and it is all set to go past the Rs 500 crore mark today.
In India, the new Hindi movie is nearing the Rs 300 crore mark, and it is poised to be the biggest hit of Ranbir Kapoor's career.
'Animal' released in theatres on December 1, and the movie has gotten quite a polarising reaction, and the film continues to be criticised for its objectionable portrayal of toxic masculinity.
In the film, Bobby Deol is playing the cousin of Ranbir Kapoor's character Ranvijay, who is hell bent on killing the father of Ranbir's character, played by Anil Kapoor.
