Censor Board Orders 20 Cuts In Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2', Asks Makers To Get 'A' Certificate: Report
A fresh report in News18, states that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered as many as 20 cuts in 'OMG 2'.
Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam-starrer 'OMG 2' is slated to release in theatres on August 11, however, ahead of the release, the new Hindi movie finds itself in a bit of a muddle. In the latest entertainment news, a fresh report in News18 states that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered as many as 20 cuts in the film. Earlier, the CBFC had sent the new Hindi movie to its Revision Committee as a preemptive measure. Now, the Revision Committee has sent its feedback, demanding several visual and audio deletion.
It is also being reported that the CBFC have asked the makers of 'OMG 2' to get an ‘A’ certificate for the film. It is being claimed that 'OMG 2' will revolve around sex education.
“In all, the RC has asked for 20 cuts. These include both visual and audio deletions. On top of it, they have also suggested the makers opt for an adults-only certification,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
“However, the makers are not comfortable with these cuts as they believe that it’ll affect the essence of the film. They are also not okay with an ‘A’ certificate. After all, they feel that the topic of sex education should be seen by people of all ages," News18 quoted a source as saying.
“There’s a deadlock between the two parties as of now. It remains to be seen if they are able to reach a consensus and whether that happens sooner so that OMG Oh My God 2 can release comfortably on August 11, as scheduled,” the source added.
Earlier, the censor board was heavily criticised for passing Om Raut's 'Adipurush'. The movie starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan received backlash for the dialogues and VFX. Dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir had to issue an 'unconditional' apology following the backlash.
Talking about 'OMG 2', the movie stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles. In the new Hindi movie, Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Lord Shiva.
The teaser for 'OMG 2' was released on July 11 and fans went gaga over the look of Akshay Kumar. 'OMG 2' is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's 2012 film 'OMG - Oh My God'.
