At least one person was confirmed dead after a portion of the roof at Delhi Airport's Terminal 1 collapsed on cars amid heavy rains in Delhi on Friday. Six others have also been left injured due in this shocking incident. In the latest Indian celebrity news, Bollywood actress Richa Chadha has now reacted to the same, and the 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' star didn’t mince her words while reacting to the news. “We regret this disruption?” What ? Why is there no mention of people who were killed ? You think not mentioning the dead will absolve you?  Like the poll workers killed in the heatstroke during elections find no mention except as “lessons” by Rajiv Kumar…predictable. The rot has set in. A bridge collapses, a hoarding falls, people die. No one takes accountability, only money matters to fattened politicians and their rule defying, crony friends," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"You thought it’ll only be the poor that die and become one small orange dot lining a river bed in the cow belt somewhere faraway. No! When life is cheap, ALL LIFE IS CHEAP. It could be you or your loved ones tomorrow. Demand better!  It’s your right. Our taxes pay their salaries," she added.

Richa Chadha's comment came after the official handle of Delhi Airport wrote, "Due to heavy rain since early this morning, a portion of the canopy at the old Departure forecourt of Delhi Airport's Terminal 1 collapsed towards 5 am. There are injuries reported and emergency personnel are working to provide all necessary (sic) assistance and medical aid to all those affected."

"As a result of this incident, all departures from Terminal 1 are temporarily suspended and check-in counters are closed as a safety measure. We sincerely regret this disruption and apologise for any inconvenience caushed (sic)," the handle added.

As per NDTV, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu has also announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for the family of the victim and Rs 3 lakh each for those injured.
