Did Aamir Khan Confirm 'Sitaare Zameen Par's Box Office Clash With Akshay Kumar's 'Welcome To The Jungle'
Aamir Khan has finally shared an update about his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.
Superstar Aamir Khan was last seen in 2022 film 'Laal Singh Chaddha', and after the failure of the Hindi film, the actor took a sabbatical, and was not seen in any project in 2023. However, the actor has finally decided to come out of his break, and he will be seen on the big screen through his upcoming project 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. In the latest entertainment news, Aamir Khan has finally shared an update about the film. "I started shooting for my next film last week. We are trying to release it on Christmas this year. Let’s hope it comes by Christmas," Indian Express quoted Aamir Khan as saying.
Aamir Khan is currently busy promoting his upcoming production venture 'Laapataa Ladies', along with the film's director and his former wife, Kiran Rao.
In an earlier interview during the promotions, Aamir Khan spoke about 'Sitaare Zameen Par', and said, "I have started shooting for my new film, Sitaare Zameen Par from February 1. It is the next level of Taare Zameen Par, it is like part 2. It is not the same story and the characters are also not the same.”
“The theme is the same but the difference is, unlike Taare Zameen Par, which left you with tears, Sitaare Zameen Par will leave in laughter. Prasanna is directing it and it is an entertaining film. We are looking at the same topic but with a different perspective," he added.
If 'Sitaare Zameen Par' releases in theatres on Christmas 2024, then it would be clashing with Akshay Kumar's 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
As of now, 'Welcome to the Jungle' is slated to release in cinemas on December 20, 2024.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, the Hindi movie will also star Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and Vrihi Kodvara.
Speaking of Aamir Khan's previous release, 'Laal Singh Chaddha', the film is an official Hindi remake of the Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’.
The Hindi film faced difficulty at the box office, making less than Rs 130 crore worldwide against a reported budget of Rs 180 crore. In India, the 2022 Hindi movie made Rs 61.36 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
