Here is the list of actors and actresses who openly badmouthed their own work in a movie.

Entertaining people is definitely not an easy task. It takes a lot to get people entertained and it is all the more difficult when different people perceive every movie differently. Look at Ranbir Kapoor's Animal' as an example. The new Hindi movie earned more than Rs 500 crore in India, and looking at this collection, you would assume that the bulk of the audience was entertained. But if you look at the social media chatter, you will realise that the new movie managed to offend a large section as well. The new Hindi movie was criticised by several fans for glorifying toxic masculinity. So, it is fair to say that making a universal acceptable film is a real challenge and in their attempt of making such a film, actors have sometimes got it wrong.

So, this weekend, we have decided to compile a list where several actors or directors dissed their own work in a movie.

Without further ado, here goes the list:

1. Sara Ali Khan

Sara Ali Khan was trolled quite a bit for her performance in 'Love Aaj Kal 2', in which she shared the screen with Kartik Aaryan. Imtiaz Ali also received flak for coming up with a below-par story and screenplay, however, the major hate was directed towards Sara Ali Khan. The actress then in a candid confession, accepted that her performance was indeed substandard.

"I like to see things for what they are, but in 2019, for several reasons, I was not able to do that. I was not seeing the mirror for what it was, I was being overtly effusive, attention seeking, people-pleasing, and loud. There is a difference between being candid and being gregarious, I very often crossed that line. It won’t be false to say I was in a la-la land in 2019, which is why my work was not rooted in reality, even sometimes, my behaviour was not rooted in reality," she told Film Companion.

2. Emraan Hashmi

In his initial years as an actor, Emraan Hashmi made a name for himself as a serial kisser as he starred in several adult movies like 'Murder', 'Aashiq Banaya Apne', and more. He also did a film called 'Good Boy, Bad Boy', in which he shared the screen with Tanushree Dutta and Isha Sharvani. In an interview with MensXP, Emraan Hashmi admitted that "kuch filmein kitchen chalane ke liye karni padhti hai."

When the interviewer guessed that he is talking about 'Good Boy, Bad Boy', Emraan hilariously replied, "Wo toh aisi film thi jisse kitchen band ho jata."

3. Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has been in the acting business for more than two decades. Many fans think that Katrina made her Hindi film debut with 'Namastey London', but her actual debut was with 'Boom', in which Katrina Kaif had a small role, and it required her to expose in the film. Years later, Katrina admitted that doing the film was a mistake as Indian culture would have never accepted a film which had actresses exposing this much.

4. Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor might be one of the most successful actors working in Bollywood these days, but he has had his share of box office flops and duds. In 2015, Ranbir Kapoor starred in a movie called 'Roy'. The movie was panned by audience, and critics. Years later, when during an interview with Film Companion, Ranbir Kapoor was told by a female fan that she really "liked" Roy, Ranbir Kapoor hilariously remarked, "I don't agree with you."

5. Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor is currently enjoying the success of his latest film 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya'. The actor has starred in several memorable projects, but you cannot deny that the actor has acted in several underwhelming films as well. In an interview with India Today, Shahid had once candidly accepted that he should not have done a film like 'Shaandaar'.

"Shaandaar being the first in that list. Chup Chup Ke maybe I wouldn’t want to do and maybe Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi ---because I think it was trying to be an international film and we didn’t have the kind of expertise to do that kind of computer graphics," he told India Today.
