"Sachchai Samne…”: What Pankaj Tripathi Said About 'OMG 2' Facing Trouble With Censor Board
Actor Pankaj Tripathi has requested the audience to not believe what is being written about 'OMG 2'.
'OMG 2' starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam is one of the most awaited projects of 2023. However, recently surfaced reports suggested that the new Hindi movie has landed in trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and it has been sent back to the revision committee. Now, actor Pankaj Tripathi has requested the audience to not believe what is being written about the upcoming Hindi film and wait until the movie releases.
“All I will say is, please don’t believe what is being written about it. Log bahut kuch bol rahe hain. Lekin sachchai samne aayegi jab film release hogi," Pankaj Tripathi told Zoom TV.
In the interview, Pankaj Tripathi also said that it is a myth that serious films are more challenging.
"Doing a lighthearted comedy is just as tough, if not tougher. With a comedy, an actor has no idea if the audience will finally laugh at what he is creating. We may find the scene uproarious while shooting it. But the audience may not agree," said Pankaj Tripathi.
Earlier, an India Today report stated that the CBFC decided to send 'OMG 2' back to the revision committee as they wanted to ensure that the dialogues and scenes in the movie do not create any issues.
India Today in its report also stated that moving ahead the censor board will be sending any movie to the revision committee which is dealing with subjects like God or religion.
Earlier, the censor board was heavily criticised for passing Om Raut's 'Adipurush'. The movie starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan received backlash for the dialogues and VFX.
Dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir had to issue an 'unconditional' apology following the backlash.
Talking about 'OMG 2', the movie stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
In the new Hindi movie, Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Lord Shiva.
The teaser for 'OMG 2' was released on July 11 and fans went gaga over the look of Akshay Kumar.
'OMG 2' is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's 2012 film 'OMG - Oh My God'.
