Kalki Koechlin Deletes Her X Account, Cites "Hate And Disinformation" Around Israel-Palestine Conflict As Major Reason

Actress Kalki Koechlin, who is known for her work in projects like 'Made In Heaven', 'Dev D', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara', and 'Margarita With A Straw', has ended up deleting her X (formerly Twitter) account. In the latest entertainment news, the actress confirmed that she took this decision after seeing overwhelming "misinformation and hate" speech regarding Israel-Palestine conflict. For the unversed, the ongoing tension in the region has seen 15,500 Palestinians and 1,500 Israelis dead.
Kalki Koechlin said that she is constantly seeing glorification of murder and rape on the social media platform and hence she decided to delete her X account.
Taking to Instagram, Kalki wrote, "Had to do this today. The hate and disinformation, the doom scrolling, the helplessness. But what really crossed the line for me, what really made me draw a boundary was the denial or the justification of Palestinian children murdered in the thousands or the denial or glorification of Israeli women being raped, tortured and murdered. I have had enough.”

Though, the actress has deleted her account, it will still be accessible as it takes 30 days for the permanent deletion of the account, provided the user does not use it in the meantime.
Kalki has been quite vocal about the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
Talking about Kalki Koechlin, she was born in France in 1984 and she is a recipient of National Film Award, Filmfare Award and two Screen Awards.
She had made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap's 'Dev D', starring Abhay Deol.
Earlier this year, she was seen in the second season of Prime Video series 'Made In Heaven', created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
