Karan Johar is not pleased with 'Merry Christmas' clashing with 'Yodha' at the box office.

Makers of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi-starrer 'Merry Christmas' on Monday announced that the movie would be releasing in theatres on December 15 this year. Now, in the latest entertainment news, producer and director Karan Johar has hit out at this latest development. For the unversed, the reason behind Karan Johar's anger is that 'Merry Christmas' would be clashing with his production 'Yodha' at the box office.

Taking to the Threads app, Karan Johar wrote: "lashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers …. If we don’t stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile."

Here are some of the comments:

"And not to forget you too clashed with Ajay’s Shivaay and even released Simbaa just a week post Zero. So it’s fine Karan movies do clash it’s normal," wrote one user.

"This is business," commented another.

"Look who is talking about unity," wrote one user.

"Instead of cribbing, you could have gone Barbenheimer way. Look how they tackled the clash so beautifully. But bollywood is bollywood, you guys will tear down each other's film by planting fake stories through PR instead of supporting each other. Every clash doesn't have to be ugly," wrote one user.

For the unversed, 'Yodha' is backed by Dharma Productions and it stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in lead roles.

'Yodha' has already been postponed quite a bit.

Talking about 'Merry Christmas', the makers announced the release date of the film along with unveiling new posters featuring Katrina and Vijay, which exude a vintage vibe. In the posters, both Katrina and Vijay can be seen in a slightly serious mood.

‘Merry Christmas’ is Sriram Raghavan's first film since the National award-winning ‘Andhadhun’ (2018) starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte. The filmmaker is known for his neo-noir thrillers and ‘Merry Christmas’ is being touted as another suspense film with a twist.
