Karan Johar Gives Huge Update On ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ And It Will Leave You Heartbroken!
Karan Johar went live on Instagram recently and shared some details about his directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
The trailer of Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt was unveiled on Tuesday. In the evening, the ace filmmaker-producer went live on Instagram to chat with his fans about the film. Speculation was rife that Shah Rukh Khan may appear in a cameo role in the film, which also features Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. Fans got curious to know if there are surprise cameos in the new Hindi movie after spotting Ananya Panday in the new Hindi movie trailer.
However, there’s a piece of bad news for SRK fans as Karan Johar denied the Bollywood megastar’s cameo appearance in the new Hindi movie.
In the latest Hindi Bollywood movie news, KJo said, “No, he is not in the film but his love and blessings are always with me. He is family to me and he was the first person to put out the first unit of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.”
The filmmaker also teased fans saying that there are “three surprise cameos” in the film.
Eagle-eyed fans have already spotted Ananya Panday in a dance number in the trailer but it is yet to be known which other stars feature in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
While Karan Johar has not yet confirmed which stars will have cameo appearances in his directorial venture, a recent report by Bollywood Hungama may have revealed the names.
A source was quoted as saying in a Bollywood Hungama report, “Varun Dhawan has a small cameo in a Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani song, along with Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Ananya Panday. Varun had come to the sets to meet Karan and since they were anyway filming that song, he asked him to do the step. Varun, Ananya, Janhvi, and Sara, are featured in the same song, which is the introduction track of Ranveer Singh’s character.”
As per the latest Hindi Bollywood movie news, fans were anticipating SRK’s cameo in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ as most of KJo’s movies feature guest appearances from Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. SRK had also featured in Karan’s last film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
Karan Johar was also asked if he has a surprise cameo in the multi-starrer. He laughed and said, “Fortunately, for all of you, I am not in the film. My success as an actor has been pretty much zero.”
The filmmaker dropped the movie’s first song, ‘Tum Kya Mile’, which is a romantic number featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt last week. He was asked about the next song’s release and he said that the hint was in the trailer. The next song could be ‘Jhumka’, which featured in the trailer.
After Zoya Akhtar's ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ marks the second collaboration between Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film is set to hit theatres on July 28.
