Karan Johar Pens Heartfelt Note After UK Parliament Honours Him, Says “Dreams Do Come True”

Karan Johar was honoured by UK Parliament for his 25-year contribution to the entertainment industry.

Ace filmmaker and producer Karan Johar, who is gearing up for the release of his next directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, was honoured by the British Parliament for his contribution to the global entertainment industry as he completed 25 years as a filmmaker this year. KJo shared the news on his Instagram account on Tuesday, the same day his long-time friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the teaser of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.

Karan Johar also posted photos from London. In the first photo, Karan held a photo frame of the letter he received as he stood outside the UK Parliament in London.

The second picture was clicked inside the venue when he was honoured. For the big day, Karan Johar opted for a black outfit.

Indian-origin House of Lords peer, Baroness Sandy Verma, presented the citation to Karan Johar, he revealed in his post.

Reacting to the post, Anil Kapoor wrote, “Congratulations my friend.”

Raveena Tandon commented, "Congratulations! Well deserved!"

Soni Razdan said, "How wonderful many many congratulations to you …. You so deserve all this and much more."

Tiger Shroff wrote, "Guru ji congrats."

Shweta Bachchan, Amrita Arora, Zoya Akhtar, Navya Nanda, Maniesh Paul, Bhavana Pandey, Shaheen Bhatt, and Natasha Poonawalla among others also congratulated him.

His family banner Dharma Productions also posted a series of pictures of Karan Johar receiving the citation.

Karan Johar has a special relationship with the UK, having shot many of his films there, including ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.

As a director, his credits include ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’. He has films such as ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’ and ‘Raazi’ to his credit as a producer.

KJo is also famous for hosting his celebrity chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’. Karan Johar, who made his directorial debut with the blockbuster ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998, is returning to the director's chair after a gap of seven years.

He is all set for ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, which will release on July 28. The family drama features Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.
