The Labubu craze – a global phenomenon – has officially entered the Johar household. On Sunday, filmmaker and producer Karan Johar gave fans a delightful glimpse of how the Labubu obsession is taking over his home, all thanks to his daughter, Roohi. Taking to Instagram, Karan shared a light-hearted video featuring a playful exchange with six-year-old Roohi, who was seen clutching her beloved Labubu doll.

With his signature humour, Karan Johar quipped, “Roohi, do you really want to follow this trend?” But Roohi, undeterred and oozing sass, confidently replied, “It’s not a trend, it’s my friend.”

Stunned but amused, Karan Johar surrendered with a chuckle, saying, “Oh God, okay.” The caption summed it up perfectly, “Can’t argue with that can I?? #LabubuTakeover.”

The adorable video quickly drew reactions from fans and industry friends alike. Actor Ishaan Khatter cheekily asked, “Lawhoboo?” while Maheep Kapoor, mother to Bollywood actress Shanaya Kapoor, responded with heart emojis.

Sophie Choudry chimed in support of Roohi with a “Well said, Roohi.”

Fans were equally charmed, leaving comments like “She’s soo adorable. God bless,” and “She’s growing up so pretty.” One witty follower even teased Karan with, “Ye log hamesha aapko daant te kyu rehte hain?”

For the unversed, Labubu dolls are plush toys created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. The dolls originate from Lung’s 'The Monsters' book series. These dolls come in various sizes, colours, shapes, and styles.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Karan Johar is promoting his upcoming production ‘Dhadak 2’, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. Speaking about the film, Karan revealed that it tackles a socially significant issue that echoes across all sections of society – not just small towns.

“It’s a story that makes you wake up and think,” Karan said, adding that the subject isn’t limited to small towns – it resonates everywhere. “These things take time. They can’t happen overnight. That’s why processes like censorship exist, and we have to respect them. It took time, but every good thing does.”

From viral toy trends to socially conscious cinema, it’s clear that both Karan Johar’s personal and professional worlds are buzzing with energy – and Roohi might just be the real scene-stealer.
