"Owned By...": Dharma Productions’ Instagram Bio Viral Amid Takeover Reports
Several reports are doing the rounds that Reliance and Saregama are in talks to acquire a stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Producer and director Karan Johar is the talk of the town on social media. In the latest entertainment news, a huge controversy has erupted surrounding his latest production 'Jigra', starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina. Bollywood actress Divya Khossla Kumar accused Alia Bhatt of inflating the box office numbers. Apart from this, Karan Johar's production house Dharma Productions is also in the news, amid the reports of Goenka group's Saregama taking over the production house and Mukesh Ambani's Reliance buying minority stake.
Now, Dharma Productions' official Instagram bio has been changed, and it has caught the attention of movie buffs. The bio still lists Karan Johar as the "owner."
"Jigra o, ab ki teri baari oh! Owned by Karan Johar & CEO Apoorva Mehta," the bio reads.

Earlier, a report in The Economic Times quoted a source, who revealed that Reliance is looking to acquire a stake in Dharma Productions.
"In the past, RIL acquired a minority stake in Balaji. A similar structure could be pursued with Dharma," Economic Times quoted a source as saying.
The report also added that Dharma Productions owned 90.7 per cent by Karan Johar and 9.24 per cent by his mother, Hiroo Johar, is actively seeking strategic partnerships.
"Karan Johar has been exploring ways to monetise his stake for some time, but previous deals failed due to valuation issues," The Economic Times quoted a source as saying.
Speaking of Dharma Productions, the production house was founded by Karan Johar's father, Yash, in 1979.
After Yash Johar's death in 2003, his son Karan took over, delivering some of the iconic films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'My Name Is Khan', 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', among others.
