Kareena Kapoor who will next be seen in 'Crew' alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon, believes that her contemporaries like Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut and Vidya Balan have improved the position of women in the film industry. She said that these actresses have made the place better not just in terms of roles, but also in pay. In the latest entertainment news, Kareena Kapoor discussed how some strong women including herself have taken a stand and are trying to bring about change for other women as well.

“I think it has changed because a lot of strong women have done a lot of strong parts in films. They have done films that have been loved by the audiences… So, whether it’s leading actresses like Kangana Ranaut, Vidya Balan, Deepika Padukone, or myself, we’ve always tried to stand for roles that have risen above just being there in the film," Kareena said at a recent ABP Conclave.

"So, all of us have changed a lot of dynamics on many levels, like demanding a certain role, a certain fee, or position," she added.

It is important to mention that the 43-year-old Kareena has never shied away from embracing her age, and she continues to remain comfortable in her own skin.

“Today the audience has become accepting. Age is just a number; it’s as old as you look. You have to be fit; you have to look good… I don’t want to ever be a 21-year-old again; I’m very happy. At 21, I was so much more hyper and anxious, and I’m much calmer now, and I’m in a happy place in my 40s," said Kareena.

For the unversed, Kareena Kapoor was criticised earlier for increasing her fees to Rs 12 crore for the role of Sita in the reimagining of Ramayana.

While speaking to NDTV at that time, Kareena had said, "I make it quite clear what I want, and I think that respect should be given. It’s not about being demanding; it’s about being respectful towards women. And I think things are kind of changing."

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor will next be seen in 'Crew' alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The teaser was unveiled recently, and the Hindi film will be releasing in cinemas on March 29, 2024.

The official synopsis of the film on YouTube reads, “Crew is an entertaining and captivating comic adventure! Three ordinary air hostesses from Mumbai embark on a journey to pursue their dreams but find themselves caught up in unexpected misfortunes. This comic caper offers a delightful blend of humour, light-heartedness, and humanism, so sit back, and enjoy this entertaining and uplifting adventure.”

Kareena Kapoor was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Jaane Jaan', alongside Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.
