This BIG Actress Reveals She Auditioned For Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha'

Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan’s ambitious project ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which had released in theatres in August 2022, tanked at the box office. The 2022 film was the Hindi adaptation of the cult classic ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. But did you know that the character of Rupa, which was played by Kareena Kapoor Khan in the Hindi movie, could actually have been portrayed by Kiara Advani? Yes, you read that right. Kiara Advani, who is basking in the success of her recently released Bollywood film ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’ co-starring Kartik Aaryan, recently spoke to journalist Anupama Chopra.
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Kiara Advani revealed that she had auditioned for ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ unknowingly, but it was "terrible".
“I auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha. At the time I didn’t know it was for Laal Singh Chaddha. I really don’t want to see that audition though. I think I was terrible. It was many many years ago. I realised much later it was for Laal Singh Chaddha," Kiara Advani said.
When Kiara Advani tried to confirm the fact with her team, they hid their face in embarrassment. “They don’t want to say anything, I don’t know why," Kiara Advani shared.
“Casting is such an important part of filmmaking because the right cast can add so much more value to the film. It’s not about, ‘who’s the better actor’. It is about, ‘Who fits the part’," she added.
Earlier, Kareena Kapoor Khan had talked about auditioning for the movie.
Speaking to news agency PTI, Kareena Kapoor said, “Laal Singh Chaddha is possibly the only film in my career I’ve auditioned for. I would never do it for any kind of cinema or anybody in this world other than Aamir.”
'Laal Singh Chaddha' was a remake of the 1994 American movie 'Forrest Gump' and it was directed by Advait Chandan. The movie also starred Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in the lead roles.
Talking about Kiara Advani, she was last seen alongside Kartik Aaryan in 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha'. The actress is winning a lot of praise for her role as a rape survivor.
She will next be seen in Ram Charan's 'Game Changer'. Kiara Advani is also said to be cast in 'War 2' featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
