“It Was Very…”: Vicky Kaushal Reveals He Proposed To Katrina Kaif Just A Day Before Their Wedding
Vicky Kaushal, who recently appeared on ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ with Kiara Advani, shared how he proposed to Katrina Kaif.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are arguably one of the most loved celebrity couples. The Bollywood stars, who got hitched in December 2021, often speak candidly about each other, their families and married life. Their Instagram accounts are also loaded with pictures showcasing their mushy moments. However, very little is known about their love story. And one thing that we all would love to hear about is their proposal story. Vicky Kaushal, who has been receiving praise from all quarters for his performance in ‘Sam Bahadur’, recently appeared on Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan 8’.
On this week’s episode of ‘KWK 8’, Vicky Kaushal revealed that he proposed to Katrina Kaif just a day before the wedding. The ‘Masaan’ actor said that he had been warned that if he didn’t propose, he would have to hear about it for the rest of his life.
Revealing how he proposed to Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal said, “It was very last minute. I had been warned by everybody that if you don’t propose, it’s something you’ll have to be prepared for the rest of your life, that you are going to hear about it.”
He further shared that he did it, “one day before the wedding” so “it was not like a proposal.”
Vicky Kaushal recalled, “The first night we were there, we reached there and I planned a special dinner. It was a beautiful setup and everything but there was a dinner just before any of the friends or the families could come, they were all coming the next day so it was just us… It happened there.”
During the episode, Vicky Kaushal also said that the proposal was last minute because soon after they started going out with each other, they realised that they couldn’t lead regular lives because of their schedules.
“You understand that it’s not a 9-5 job, it’s not like you have a Saturday-Sunday off. One of the reasons why the proposal was so last minute was because at that time she was into Tiger shoot, there was a song coming and when there’s a song coming, she is a beast. So, we couldn’t plan things,” he said.
In the ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ episode, the Bollywood actor also shared that they sometimes have to plan weeks in advance so they can spend time with each other.
“Now, we’re only thinking like ‘How’s your day looking so I’ll plan my day’ so we can make time. When you have your work schedule and she has hers, it hits you up after 10-15 days that we haven’t gotten time for each other. We couldn’t meet. It’s become that you need to sit together and plan things out. That’s the new thing,” he shared.
For the unversed, Katrina Kaif got married to Vicky Kaushal in December 9, 2021 after dating for a while. Their wedding festivities took place in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The celebrity couple will soon be celebrating their second wedding anniversary.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky Kaushal can be currently seen in Meghna Gulzar’s directorial venture ‘Sam Bahadur’. The new Hindi movie also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Vicky Kaushal will next feature in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani. It will hit theatres on December 21, 2023.
On the other hand, Katrina Kaif was last seen opposite Salman Khan in ‘Tiger 3’. She will next be seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in Sriram Raghavan's ‘Merry Christmas’, slated for a theatrical release on January 12, 2024.
