Paresh Rawal Says Salman Khan’s Acting Is Like “Hawa Ka Jhoka” Compared To Aamir’s Methodical Style
Paresh Rawal has worked with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan individually in multiple films, and together in the 1994 movie ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal, who recently made headlines for his return to ‘Hera Pheri 3’ after a shocking exit, has been a part of the Indian film industry for over four decades. He has shared screen space with some of the biggest names across generations. Among them are two 1990s megastars who debuted shortly after him – Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. Paresh Rawal famously worked with both in Rajkumar Santoshi’s 1994 cult classic ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, and his insights into their working styles are as fascinating as they are contrasting.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Paresh Rawal described Aamir and Salman as polar opposites when it comes to their approach to acting.
“Aamir has to work around and know things in depth and detail. That is why Aamir sahab thoda time lete hai. Meanwhile, Salman is hawa ka jhoka, kab aaya, udake ke le gaya, pata bhi nahi chalta,” Paresh Rawal said.
Paresh Rawal elaborated on Salman Khan’s style, saying the actor works on gut instinct. He explained, “Salman understands a scene on a gut level. He is such a charming fellow. On screen, he is magic. When he comes on set, he doesn’t have to work too hard. He just flows with it.”
The veteran actor has collaborated with Salman in Sohail Khan’s 1997 action thriller ‘Auzaar’, David Dhawan’s 2000 romantic comedy ‘Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge’, Raj Kanwar’s 2000 rom-com ‘Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega’, Anees Bazmee’s 2011 action comedy ‘Ready’, and most recently, Ali Abbas Zafar’s 2017 spy thriller ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.
Meanwhile, Paresh Rawal and Aamir Khan have shared screen space in SA Kader’s 1992 action romance ‘Daulat Ki Jung’, Ashutosh Gowariker’s 1995 action thriller ‘Baazi’, and Mansoor Khan’s 1995 romantic drama ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’.
This isn’t the first time that Paresh Rawal has compared the two stars. In a previous conversation with The Lallantop, he remarked, “Personally, I like Aamir better, if I talk about work. He doesn’t believe in any gestures or mannerisms. But Salman is full of it, he is a natural. He has another level of charm and charisma. Acting mein koi bada, superior, inferior, ghatiya, great nahi hai. Everyone is different and good in their own place.”
Speaking to Radio Nasha, Paresh Rawal added a nuanced take, “With Aamir, his way of working is methodical. Salman toh hasste khelte aayega aur karlega, Aamir has to know everything. So, kabhi kabhi lagta tha ki thoda toh kahin par manufacture kia hua lagta hai. But when you see his final impact, it’s amazing.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Paresh Rawal has several projects in the pipeline including ‘Hera Pheri 3’, ‘Bhooth Bangla’, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Thama and ‘Nikita Roy’.
