Vaani Kapoor will star as the female lead opposite Ajay Devgn in ‘Raid 2’. The release date of the film has been announced.
Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor, who was last seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the 2022 Hindi movie ‘Shamshera’, captured the hearts of many with her very first film ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’. Best known for her roles in movies like ‘Befikre’, ‘War’, and ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’, Vaani Kapoor has carved her own space in the entertainment industry. She has now bagged the lead role opposite Ajay Devgn in ‘Raid 2’. Touted to be one of the most awaited sequels, the film has gone on floors in Mumbai.
Vaani Kapoor took to her Instagram account and shared a picture of herself posing with Ajay Devgn and Ravi Teja. In her post’s caption, Vaani Kapoor also revealed the release date of ‘Raid 2’.
“Raid-ing on the big screen soon! So grateful. #Raid2 Muharat Shot. See you in cinemas on 15th November, 2024,” the caption of the post read.

In the picture, Ravi Teja gave the mahurat clap for ‘Raid 2’. The second picture in Vaani Kapoor’s Instagram post features a poster of the upcoming film, ‘Raid 2’. The 2024 Hindi movie is being helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who had directed the first installment as well.
The upcoming sequel, which is now in production, is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under their banners T-Series and Panorama Studios, respectively.
As per reports, ‘Raid 2’ will be extensively shot in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. For the unversed, ‘Raid’ was released in 2018 and also starred Saurabh Shukla, Ileana D'Cruz and Gayathiri Iyer.
It was based on a real-life raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department in the 1980s. Ileana D’Cruz played Ajay Devgn's wife in the film.
Apart from ‘Raid 2’, Ajay Devgn will also be seen in the third instalment of the ‘Singham’ franchise. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film features a star-studded cast including Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone.
In addition to ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Raid 2’, Ajay Devgn will be seen in ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ and ‘Shaitaan’ this year.
For the unversed, Ravi Teja will star in the Telugu adaptation of ‘Raid’ titled ‘Mr Bachchan’, directed by Harish Shankar.
