"Disrespectful": Ram Charan's Makeup Artist Unhappy With Shah Rukh Khan For "Idly Vada" Remark For South Superstar
Ram Charan's makeup artist has called out SRK for his "Idly Vada" remark at the Ambani bash.
The three-day pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant were a star-studded affair and it was attended by some of the biggest names in the world. The likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt, among others were all in attendance. On Day 2 of the festivities, fans witnessed the three Khans -- SRK, Salman and Aamir coming together on stage as they performed on the hit 'RRR' song 'Naatu Naatu'.
The trio first tried to nail the hook step of Ram Charan and Jr NTR's song 'Naatu Naatu'. At one point, even Ram Charan joined them on stage as they all did the hook step of the song together.
Ram Charan was invited on the stage by SRK and it was then that the latter jokingly said some gibberish words, seemingly in Telugu or Tamil. A video of the same was shared by several media outlets.

However, Ram Charan's makeup artist, Zeba Hassan, commented on the video shared by Pinkvilla, "I’m a huge SRK fan, but I really disliked the way he called Ram Charan on stage.”
The makeup artist also expressed disappointment on Instagram Stories, as she wrote, "Bhend idly vada Ram charan kahan hai tu. I walked out after this. So disrespectful towards a star like @alwaysramcharan."
The internet too is not pleased with SRK calling Ram Charan "idly".
A user wrote on X, "Shahrukh Khan is being insensitive by referring to Ram Charan as 'idli', which could be perceived as a racial stereotype against South Indians."
Another user commented, "Shah Rukh Khan being casually racist to Ram Charan who is South Indian by calling him idli."
"Shahrukh Khan is being racist to South Indians by calling 'Ram Charan idli' after a South Indian director gave him the biggest hit of his career," wrote one user.
As per Hindustan Times, Zeba also shared a statement on Instagram, but deleted it later.
A part of the statement read, "It's funny how everyone wants to pay us 'lesser' because we're from south India whereas they're okay to pay triple the amount for the same thing to an artist if that artist is Delhi or Mumbai based."
