Ranbir Kapoor drops a big update regarding Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra 2'.

'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva', starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, had released in theatres in September 2022. Upon its release, the Hindi film received mixed reviews from critics. However, the Ayan Mukerji directorial, which also starred Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles, turned out to be a money-spinner and it was one of the rare Hindi movies of 2022 to taste success. Ever since its release, fans have been waiting for an update on the second installment.

Ranbir Kapoor has been busy promoting his upcoming movie 'Animal', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In a recent Zoom interaction with his fans, Ranbir Kapoor dropped a big update regarding 'Brahmastra 2'.

"Brahmastra Part 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time. It’s just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me and he has gone 10 times bigger than Part 1 – his idea, his thought, the character. He is working on War 2 right now. So the plan is to finish War 2 by mid next year and we start shooting hopefully by the end of next year or the beginning of 2025," Ranbir Kapoor said while interacting with his fans.

"But definitely a lot of work is already been happening on the film. We understood the kind of criticism for the film, what worked for it and what didn’t. So we have put everything into consideration, the dialogue and comments on Shiva and Isha’s missing chemistry. A lot of criticism was constructive and we have taken that into our stride and we are trying to understand that and go beyond that," he added.

'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva' starred Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva and Alia Bhatt played the role of Isha. The movie also featured Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna in cameo appearances.

Ayan Mukerji directed the film and he was also a co-producer along with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Namit Malhotra.

Upon its release, 'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva' had received backlash for its dialogues and the lack of chemistry between Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Despite all the criticism, the fantasy adventure film had collected Rs 75 crore on its opening day and went on to mint nearly Rs 430 crore worldwide.

Talking about Ranbir Kapoor's next 'Animal', the new Hindi movie also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.

The new Hindi film is slated to release in theatres on December 1, 2023, and it will be going up against Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' at the box office.

'Sam Bahadur' also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. The movie has been directed by Meghna Gulzar, who is known for helming movies like 'Talvar' and 'Raazi'.
