Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' has now gone past the lifetime haul of 'Kantara' and 'Brahmastra'.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s latest Tamil actioner ‘Coolie’, starring Rajinikanth, Shruti Haasan, and Nagarjuna Akkineni, is steadily asserting its dominance at the box office. With each passing day, the film inches past the lifetime collections of previous blockbusters. On its seventh day in theatres, ‘Coolie’ surpassed the total earnings of both Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’, further solidifying its box office run. The mass entertainer has struck a strong chord with fans, and its momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

‘Coolie’ earned Rs 7.50 crore on Wednesday in India, across all languages, taking the total nett domestic collection to Rs 223.50 crore. The Tamil version has earned Rs 146.15 crore, while the Hindi version has contributed Rs 24.90 crore.

According to the Hindustan Times, the Tamil film has earned an estimated USD 20 million (Rs 166 crore) overseas, taking the total worldwide collection to gross Rs 432 crore after seven days. The film will go past the Rs 450 crore mark in the coming days.

'Brahmastra' had earned Rs 431 crore in its worldwide collection, while 'Kantara' minted Rs 416 crore. The film has already crossed the lifetime haul of Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' (Rs 414 crore).

Speaking of 'Coolie', the film stars Rajinikanth as a retired coolie who somehow gets embroiled in a gangster's activities once he tries to investigate his friend's mysterious death.

The film also stars Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Sathyaraj. Aamir Khan also made his Tamil language debut in a cameo.

The film opened with a collection of Rs 65 crore on Day 1 and followed it up with earnings of Rs 54.75 crore and Rs 39.25 crore on the next two days, across all languages.

Speaking of Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani's 'War 2', which released on the same day as 'Coolie', the new pan-India earned Rs 5.75 crore on Wednesday, the seventh day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film currently stands at Rs 199.25 crore. The Hindi version has earned Rs 146.40 crore, while the Telugu version earned Rs 51.30 crore.

The Ayan Mukerji-directed 'War 2', the latest installment of the YRF Spy Universe, doesn't feature cameos by Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

However, the post-credit scene did set up the next installment of the YRF Spy Universe, 'Alpha,' starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, and Bobby Deol. The post-credit scene introduced Bobby Deol to the YRF Spy Universe.
