Ranbir Kapoor has been asked to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on October 6.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged online betting app case. The actor has been asked to appear before the agency for promoting Mahadev online book betting app. In the latest entertainment news, Ranbir Kapoor has been asked to appear before the probe agency on October 6, reported The Indian Express.

For the unversed, the Mahadev online gambling app provides platform for betting on different lives games such as cricket, football, tennis, badminton, card games, and others.

As per the Indian Express, the platform in question also provides an avenue to bet on different elections in India. 

As per NDTV, the probe agency has said that the company promoters hail from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh. The agency said that these people were running 4-5 such apps, and all of them earned a profit of around Rs 200 crore per day. 

The ED's investigation has also shown that the gaming app is run from a central head office in the UAE. The app also has its call centres in Sri Lanka and Nepal.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal', which also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri. The movie will release in theatres on December 1, 2023. The movie will be releasing in theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.

The new Hindi movie is being directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, best known for helming the Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’ and its blockbuster Hindi remake ‘Kabir Singh’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.

‘Animal’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures.
