Saif, in a brave bid to shield his family, suffered multiple stab wounds before being rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery. Now, as the actor recovers at home after a five-day hospital stay, the family has tightened its security like never before. The latest measure? A fortified balcony, enclosed with wiring to prevent any potential breach of privacy and safety.

For a family that has just endured such a terrifying ordeal, no precaution seems excessive and social media users have largely supported this move.
One user wrote, “This is just sad.... I don't think people realise the terror one feels when they discover that they are not safe in their own home. ... Happened to us once when we were robbed... Took years to feel "at home" again.”
Another one added, “I mean the paps + random ppl are literally standing at their gate 24/7 and can easily even walk up to them when they are getting into their cars etc. so not sure if they are taking the steps to ensure safety. The biggest threat to them and to any other Bollywood star is these ppl standing at their gates.”

Following the attack, Kareena had taken to Instagram to request for privacy. Her official statement subtly but pointedly called out the relentless paparazzi culture that adds another layer of vulnerability to their everyday lives.
“While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety,” she had shared on Instagram.
The Khan family has largely kept things quiet on their end as they heal from the ordeal they were put through. For the unversed, at the time of Saif's return from the hospital, it was revealed that Ronit Roy's security agency would now look into the actor's protection.
