Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have over time become very good friends. Salman had recently attended the wedding of Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan, and was also there to support Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao for the screening of her upcoming movie ‘Laapataa Ladies’. However, things have not always been hunky-dory between the two. The duo had starred in one of Hindi cinema’s cult classics 'Andaz Apna Apna', which had released in 1994. It has now been revealed that the two actors, both of whom would go on to become Bollywood superstars, didn’t always see eye-to-eye during the shooting of the comedy film.

Actor Shehzad Khan, who played the iconic role of ‘Bhalla’ in Andaz Apna Apna, has now revealed that the two would often not get along during the shooting.

“I have seen it happen in front of my eyes. Many times things would happen. Salman is Salman and Aamir is Aamir. I won’t blame anyone for it. Often, I used to be the bridge between them. I have been very close to Salman since childhood, toh cheezein nipat jaati thi (so things used to be sorted out),” Indian Express quoted Shehzad Khan as saying to Siddharth Kannan in an interview.

Shehzad Khan also revealed that while Aamir Khan would reach the sets two hours before the call time, Salman Khan, on the other hand, would often reach the sets two hours late.

“Aamir would reach the Mud Island bungalow at 7-7.30 in the morning when call time used to be 9 am. Salman bechaare 10-11 baje tak aa hi jaate the (poor Salman would come by 10-11),” added Khan, while defending his childhood friend. “We all know how difficult it is to come from Bandra. Kabhi gaadi kharab, kabhi kuch kharab… (Sometimes the car broke down or sometimes something else…”

“But the performance of both of them was up to the mark, nobody can say this is 32 takes and this is one take,” Khan said.

While the comedy Hindi film was deemed a flop at the box office, it would go on to become one of the most iconic movies of Indian cinema. Some of the dialogues and characters from the movie, are even today copied in normal conversation.
