Sara Ali Khan's aunt Saba Pataudi has defended the actress' performance in 'Ae Watan Mere Watan'.

Sara Ali Khan's 'Ae Watan Mere Watan', which is based on the life of freedom fighter Usha Mehta, premiered on Prime Video on Thursday. The new Hindi movie has opened to negative reviews from critics, and even fans are not impressed with the acting performance of Sara Ali Khan. In the latest entertainment news, amidst the rising criticism, Sara Ali Khan's aunt Saba Pataudi has defended her niece's acting in the film. Saba Pataudi took to Karan Johar's Instagram post to respond to netizens who are criticising Sara's performance in 'Ae Watan Mere Watan'. Some netizens also slammed the actress' performance in Netflix's 'Murder Mubarak'.

Responding to the negative comments, Saba Pataudi wrote, "DON'T judge something until you’ve seen it FIRST. She’s actually brilliant! Mahsha’Allah.” 

For the unversed, Saba Pataudi responded to a comment where a user had written how Sara's acting ruined an "interesting" film.

Saba Pataudi is the elder sister of Saif Ali Khan. 

Speaking of 'Ae Watan Mere Watan', the film is about India's struggle for freedom in 1942. The movie is also based on the life of Usha Mehta, a young girl who started an underground radio station to spread the message of unity, during the Quit India Movement. 

Apart from Sara Ali Khan, the film also stars Anand Tiwari, Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, and Emraan Hashmi.

'Ae Watan Mere Watan' has been directed by Kannan Iyer while it has been produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra.

Sara Ali Khan will next be seen in ‘Metro In Dino’, co-starring Aditya Roy Kapur. She will also star in ‘Sky Force’ alongside Akshay Kumar.
