Kabir Khan's maiden collaboration with Kartik Aaryan, 'Chandu Champion', released in cinemas on June 14. And it has emerged as one rare Hindi movie which is being loved by everyone. The new Hindi movie is going from strength-to-strength at the box office. It is safe to say that the biographical sports drama film based on the life of India's first Paralympics gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar, has struck a chord with the audience. Recently, veteran actress Shabana Azmi and lyricist Javed Akhtar saw ‘Chandu Champion’. While speaking to the paparazzi, the celebrity couple reviewed the film.

“Bahut achi hai,” the duo said unanimously.

Speaking further, Shabana Azmi said, “Main toh ro ro ke pagal ho gayi aur Kartik ka kaam bahut acha tha. Kabir ne bahut acha kiya. Maine bahut dino ke baad Kabir ki film dekhi aur usne pakad ke rakha second half pe bhi.”

Javed Akhtar also nodded in agreement. Shabana Azmi also added that the film is an inspiring story.

Shabana Azmi also said that by making the movie, the makers have done a favour to the film industry. She was of the opinion that if the makers did not make this film then this inspiring story would have been hidden under heaps of papers.

For the unversed, 'Chandu Champion' has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie also stars Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, Shreyas Talpade, and Sonali Kulkarni.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Chandu Champion' made Rs 10 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. The new Hindi movie had an overall 30.41 per cent Hindi occupancy on the third day of its release.

The total nett domestic collection of 'Chandu Champion', after three days, stands at Rs 21.75 crore. On Monday, 'Chandu Champion' is expected to perform decently well, owing to a holiday in some parts of the country due to Eid ul-Adha or Bakrid.
