Sonu Nigam looked visibly irritated with some audience members during his Kolkata show, as he asked them to sit down.
Indian singer Sonu Nigam’s live performance in Kolkata on February 10 was a mesmerising experience for his fans. But the event took an unexpected turn when the singer became visibly irritated as some audience members stood up during his performance. In a viral video, Sonu Nigam was seen visibly annoyed as he told the crowd, urging them to sit down. Frustrated with the disruption, he remarked, “Agar tum ko khada hona hi hai, election mein khade ho jao yaar!”
In the clip circulating online, Sonu Nigam could be heard sternly instructing the crowd to clear the space, saying, “Please bithao. Jaldi karo… itna time jaa raha hain mera maalum hain? Apka cut off time aa jayga phir, baithao! Jaldi baitho! Baitho! Bahar niklo! Make this space empty.”

His frustration was evident as he attempted to maintain order at the concert. Soon after the video went viral, several social media users reacted to it.
One user wrote, “He actually had to manage the crowd and security himself. Because the management was so poor. Reading lots of reports on the internet about it.”
Another one added, “I was there last night in the concert and it was really sad to see the management not upto par. Sir was great.”
A third one commented, “The management was so bad. The stage was setup by some inexperienced people. The sound system was also not upto mark. For last one and half hour the laft set of speakers were creating distorted sound.”
Another user said, “Aise pyaar se kaun daant ta hai? Sounds so good even while scolding.”
Supporters also pointed out that the singer had to personally manage the audience, drawing comparisons to the tragic death of singer KK, who suffered a cardiac arrest after performing in an overcrowded venue with inadequate security.
“Kolkata always is stressful. See what happened to KK,” one user wrote.
A comment read, “He had do it by himself because he knows what happened to KK due to this type of management & security… Everyone will have to do this here and everywhere while running the show for self-security.”
Apart from the crowd issue, Sonu Nigam recently shared another challenge he faced while performing—severe back pain.
In an Instagram post, he described experiencing excruciating discomfort during a live show. He wrote, “It felt like a needle was pricking my spine. If I moved even a little, the pain would shoot up. It was really bad.”
Despite the tense moments, Sonu Nigam’s Kolkata concert remained a memorable night for his fans.
