Sunita Ahuja Says Govinda Flirted With All His Co-Stars Except Sonali Bendre
Sunita Ahuja playfully revealed how Govinda would flirt with all his co-stars. She even rated him seven on responsibility and lower on loyalty.
Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have once again found themselves in the spotlight, this time amid revelations on the reality show ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’. While the celebrity couple recently dismissed divorce rumours, Sunita’s candid comments on the show have sparked curiosity about their relationship dynamics. In the latest promo of ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga – Jodiyon Ka Reality Check’, Sunita Ahuja, who appeared as a guest judge, spoke openly about her 40-year-long marriage with Govinda.
In a light-hearted exchange, she revealed that the actor was known to flirt with many of his co-stars over the years – but there was one exception. “Bas Sonali hi bach gayi. She was the only actress he never tried his charm on,” Sunita Ahuja said.
Sunita also recalled Govinda’s contribution to Sonali’s career, pointing out that he gave her the first big break in ‘Aag’ (1994). Adding a personal touch, she mentioned that when she was younger, Govinda often said she reminded him of Sonali.
“In fact, Govinda gave Sonali her first big break in Aag, and he would often say that when I was younger, I reminded him of Sonali... It was truly special to relive those moments, share a few untold truths, and celebrate the Govinda-style entertainment that has always been such a big part of my life,” Sunita shared.
During her appearance, Sunita was seen enjoying her time on stage with Sonali Bendre, who co-hosts the show alongside comedian Munawar Faruqui. Reminiscing about their past collaborations, she said, “We laughed and remembered all those fun moments from the past that are still so close to our hearts.”
The duo fondly recalled films like ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai’ and ‘Apne Dam Par’, which Sonali starred in with Govinda.
The promo also captured a humorous moment when Munawar attempted to dance with Sunita on Govinda’s popular track ‘Biwi No. 1’. Sunita quickly brushed him off, quipping, “Main teri Biwi No. 1 thodi hu jo tu mere saath dance kar raha hai! Main Govinda ki Biwi No. 1 hu.”
According to ETimes, during the show, contestant Isha Malviya asked Sunita to rate her husband on different aspects. She called him a “classic late-latif” who often missed calls, giving him a 7 out of 10 for responsibility. When it came to loyalty, Sunita mischievously rated Govinda a 6, sending the audience and contestants into fits of laughter. Contestants teased that “Sunita ji kabhi jhooth nahi bolti,” making the moment even more entertaining.
Recently, Govinda and Sunita faced divorce speculation, but they shut down the rumours by making a joint public appearance during Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.
Addressing the media, Sunita firmly stated, “Aaj itna close, close… agar kuch hota toh hum itne nazdeek hotey? Humaari dooriyan hoti! Koi hum dono ko alag nahi kar sakta hain, chahe upar se koi aa jaaye bhagwan aa jaaye, koi shaitaan aa jaaye. Koi nahi alag kar sakta hai.”
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in 1987, before Govinda became a Bollywood star. The couple initially kept their marriage a secret, revealing it only after the birth of their daughter Tina Ahuja in 1988. They later welcomed their son Yashvardhan in 1997. While Tina has already debuted in Bollywood, Yashvardhan is preparing to step into films with Sai Rajesh’s upcoming project.
