Vicky Kaushal Felt “Odd” Getting Attention From Katrina Kaif Initially, Reveals How He Asked Her Out For First Time
Vicky Kaushal recently revealed how he asked Katrina Kaif out on a date for the first time while sharing his feelings when she started giving him attention initially.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are one of the most adored celebrity couples in Bollywood. While they were rumoured to be dating each other for a while, Vicky and Katrina never spoke about their relationship. The incredibly talented Bollywood stars took everyone by surprise when they tied the knot in December 2021. It was a low-key, intimate ceremony. And their beautiful wedding photos ruled social media for weeks. They are now very open about their relationship and often showcase their affection for each other on social media. Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif also support one another on work events.
But guess what? Initially, Vicky Kaushal was in disbelief when he began getting attention from Katrina Kaif. In a recent interview, the Bollywood actor admitted that it took a while for him to come to terms with this fact.
Vicky Kaushal got candid about his relationship with Katrina Kaif during a recent interaction with We Are Yuvaa.
The initial attention from Katrina Kaif did feel “odd” to Vicky Kaushal. He said, “First, I used to feel odd getting attention from her. I used to be like, ‘Hain? Are you ok?’ She was a phenomenon. Shuru shuru mein obviously ye lagta tha, ‘Why me?’ But she is a lovely human being and once I got to spend time with her, got to know Katrina Kaif, the human being, I realised I had never met a person like her.”
He added, “I have never heard her say anything ill about anyone. She is very compassionate about the people around her, about the environment she is in, and that, for me, is like my biggest turn-on.”
During their courtship period, the Bollywood couple didn’t acknowledge their relationship in public. But when they started seeing each other, they knew they wanted something serious from the relationship.
“In our courtship, it was never suspense if I asked for marriage, will it be a yes or no. From the beginning, we knew this was serious. We are in this to look for something permanent. Marriage was not a question from one side and an answer from the other side. Marriage was a discussion that we had,” Vicky Kaushal shared during his interaction with We Are Yuvaa.
However, before approaching Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal had doubts about himself. “I have had trouble coming to that reality that I can,” he said.
He also admitted that he never fell in love with her because of her star status or popularity in the country.
“Those factors were never the reason why I fell in love with her. Why I fell in love with her is because when I got to know the human part of her, the person she is, I was just fully in love. I knew that I would love to have her as my life companion,” Vicky Kaushal said.
The ‘Zara Hatke Zara Backe’ actor also revealed that he didn’t ask out Katrina Kaif in a fancy manner. He shared that it was as simple as, “Can I take you out for dinner?”
Vicky Kaushal also confessed that it was a “journey” to reach this stage, but he refuses to reveal anything about the journey.
At times when Vicky Kaushal cannot believe he is getting all the love from Katrina Kaif and thinks, ‘Ye kya ho raha hai?’, he asks her why she loves him. Katrina Kaif says, “I just feel like you have a set of values which I admire and you are stubborn for those values. You protect those values. So, I like that about you.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for the release of ‘The Great Indian Family’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’. Katrina Kaif is looking forward to the release of ‘Tiger 3’, co-starring Salman Khan.
