Late actor Dara Singh is still known for playing the character of Lord Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar’s television show Ramayan. In the latest entertainment news, his son Vindu Dara Singh has criticised the portrayal of the character in Om Raut's 'Adipurush'. For the unversed, it was Devdatta Nage who had played the role of Bajrang in 'Adipurush'. In a recent interview, Vindu Dara Singh said that the actor could not "even talk in proper Hindi."

“They have made him into something else with the dialogues given to him. Maybe they were targeting the younger generation, who watch Marvel movies such as Thor. And they have failed terribly," Vindu Dara Singh told Hindustan Times.

'Adipurush' was criticised for the objectionable dialogues and poor VFX. The dialogues had to be revised, but this did not lead to the movie making money at the box office.

“I don’t know if they were drugged out or what were they thinking? The world knows that Ravan’s Lanka was made of gold, and they have made it with black-stone. Don’t even get me started on the Ravan’s 10-head scene. They have introduced dragons in the story. They have just played with the story by doing funny things. It is disappointing," said Vindu Dara Singh.

Vindu Dara Singh has himself played the role of Lord Hanuman a few times on television and on the stage.

In a previous chat with KoiMoi, he said: “I’ve also done Hanuman 10-12 times in my life. He told me ‘Vindu you should never touch non-veg when you shoot. Don’t have any bad thought in your mind when you are working on Hanuman’. He used to tell me to think only good and positive things, nothing wrong.”

Vindu Dara Singh has played the role of Lord Hanuman in projects like 'Jai Veer Hanuman', 'Vishnu Puran', and 'Ayodhya Ki Ramleela'.

Talking about 'Adipurush', the movie emerged as Prabhas' third flop in a row after 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Saaho'. Made on a massive budget of more than Rs 500 crore, 'Adipurush' did not even collect Rs 150 crore in the Hindi version.

The actor will next be seen in Prashanth Neel’s 'Salaar', and the movie is slated to release in the theatres in September 2023. The teaser of 'Salaar' will be released on Thursday (July 6).

He also has 'Project K' in the pipeline which also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan and Disha Patani.
