The wait is finally over! The much-anticipated trailer for ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, is here. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this high-octane action thriller is one of 2025’s most awaited films. Set to release on August 14, ‘War 2’ promises an explosive pan-India spectacle as part of the YRF Spy Universe. The newly released trailer has ramped up excitement with glimpses of an epic face-off between Hrithik and Jr NTR, leaving fans eager for what’s next in this adrenaline-fueled saga.
The trailer opens with a powerful shot of Hrithik Roshan, who vows to conceal his identity and sever ties with everyone he has ever loved.
The trailer then introduces Jr NTR, who also plays a soldier. Prior to its release, many assumed that the ‘RRR’ star would be a straightforward antagonist. However, the trailer reveals that he, too, is driven by the mission to put “India first.”
However, the core conflict between Hrithik and Jr NTR remains under wraps, which is perhaps the trailer’s most intriguing aspect. The over two-minute clip teases just enough without giving away too much.
The trailer also reveals Kiara Advani as Hrithik’s love interest, but her role is far from one-dimensional. She’s seen performing high-octane stunts and engaging in action sequences. In the parting shot, Kiara appears in a soldier’s uniform, hinting at a more substantial role in the story.
Ashutosh Rana also makes a brief yet impactful appearance in the trailer. Known for playing Kabir’s mentor in the 2019 film ‘War’, his character takes a surprising turn in ‘War 2’. The trailer shows him handcuffed to a chair – and in a dramatic moment, he even spits in Kabir’s (Hrithik Roshan) face, hinting at a major shift in their dynamic.
Tiger Shroff also makes a fleeting appearance – his photo is seen hanging on the wall in Hrithik’s house. For those unfamiliar, his character was killed off in the 2019 film ‘War’, directed by Siddharth Anand.

‘War 2’ is the next installment of the YRF Spy Universe after Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi-starrer ‘Tiger 3’. After ‘War 2’, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh’s ‘Alpha’ will also release, marking another new chapter of the Spy Universe.
‘War 2’ is produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. ‘War 2’ is the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe after ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Tiger 3’.
‘War’, which released in October 2019, starred Hrithik Roshan alongside Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. In ‘War’, Hrithik Roshan essayed the role of rogue RAW agent Kabir Dhaliwal and Tiger Shroff was his protégé Khalid Rahmani.
The film was directed by Siddharth Anand and turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of 2019 with a collection of over Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office.
