Radhika Apte Recalls How She Was Told To Get "Bigger Breasts, Better Nose"
Bollywood entertainment news: Radhika Apte is currently awaiting the release of her latest film 'Mrs Undercover'.
Radhika Apte is one of the top leading actresses we have currently, and she has starred in several hit projects like 'Sacred Games', 'Monica, O My Darling', 'Andhadhun', 'Pad Man' and 'Badlapur'. The actress is currently gearing up for the release of her latest Hindi film titled 'Mrs Undercover'. The new Bollywood movie which is being co-produced by B4U Motion Pictures, will start streaming on Zee5 from April 14. Ahead of the release, Radhika Apte has recalled how she was typecast after her initial roles.
In the latest Bollywood entertainment news, she also revealed how she was told to get "better nose and bigger breasts" when she was just starting out in the industry.
“Perceptions are strange. People used to think that I could only be a village girl for the longest time, till I did Badlapur. After Badlapur, people thought I could only do sex comedies, I could strip. So, I stopped. I just never said yes to them. Perceptions are a bit bizarre," Radhika Apte said in an interview with Film Companion.
"I lost a film because I was overweight by three or four kilos. Of course, when you’re new, they say, ‘Why don’t you get a better nose; why don’t you get bigger breasts?’ That was in the beginning. In the middle, some people would comment on your body as if they had the right to… Now we can talk about it very openly in the last few years because of awareness. We can say, If you say that to me again I’ll make sure you’re out of this project, at least," she added.
In the interview, Radhika Apte also spoke about why she opts to make fewer public appearances. She also revealed that she was asked whether she wants to attend an awards show because she was winning for her performance in 'Monica, O My Darling'.
She then revealed that she was told that the award would be hers only if she attends.
Radhika Apte then said that she told them to keep the award.
"What is this nonsense?” she said.
