The CBFC has asked makers of 'Pathaan' to implement few changes in the movie.

Ever since the song 'Besharam Rang' was released from the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Pathaan', reactions to it have been coming left, right and centre. A huge controversy erupted after the song was released after a section of fans spoke against the costumes in songs used in the movie. On Thursday, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) advised the makers to implement changes in the film, including the songs.

The Censor Board has also asked the makers to submit a revised version after they have implemented the changes.

The official statement was released by CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi, as reported by the Indian Express

“The film recently reached the CBFC examination committee for certification and went through the due and thorough examination process as per the board’s guidelines. Pathaan went through the due and through examining process as per the CBFC guidelines. The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version prior to theatrical release," Joshi said in the official statement, as reported by the Indian Express.

'Besharam Rang' was embroiled controversy after Deepika was seen dancing alongside Shah Rukh Khan in a saffron-coloured swimsuit.

"CBFC is always committed to find the right balance between creative expression and sensibility of the audience and believe that we can always find solution through meaningful dialogue between all stakeholders. Whilst the process is getting duly followed and implemented I must reiterate that our culture and faith is glorious, intricate and nuanced," said Joshi.

"And we have to be careful that it does not get defined by trivia which takes the focus away from the real and the true. And like I have said earlier as well, that the trust between creators and audience is most important to protect and the creators should keep working towards it," he added.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra had asked the makers of 'Pathaan' to change the costumes in the song 'Besharam Rang'.

'Pathaan' is slated to hit the theatres on January 25. Apart from Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone, the Siddharth Anand-directorial also stars John Abraham as the antagonist.
