In a recent promotional event for her upcoming Amazon Prime Video series ‘Citadel’, she talked about her recent comments regarding her Bollywood journey, sharing why she spoke about it after several years.
Looks like Priyanka Chopra has put the past behind her and made her peace with it. The global star, during the podcast, opened up about moving to the US because she felt “cornered’ in Bollywood. Commenting on her recent remarks at a special press event in Mumbai, she said that she spoke her heart out as she felt “articulate” and confident enough.
At the event, which was also attended by ‘Game of Thrones’ star Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra said, “When I was on the podcast, I was asked about the journey of my life. So I started with when I was young, when I was 10, 15, 22, 30 and 40-years-old. I was talking about the truth of my journey. I think I am now comfortable enough to talk about that phase in my life.”
The ‘Mary Kom’ actress further said that she has now forgiven what happened to her and moved on.
“I think now where I am, I am okay enough to articulate what I felt. I think I have had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred, then I forgave, I moved on long time ago and I made my peace with it. I think that’s why it was easy for me to talk about it in an open manner in a safe space,” she said.
For the unversed, in the podcast that went viral on social media, Priyanka Chopra said that she had “beef with some people” and was tired of the politics in Bollywood.
Without taking any names, PeeCee also said that she faced opposition in the Hindi film industry as people stopped casting her in movies, forcing her to eventually go to the West.
Coming back to her upcoming series ‘Citadel’, it is an ambitious spy drama slated to debut on April 28. ‘Citadel’ is produced by the Russo Brothers’ (filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo) AGBO and showrunner David Weil.
The action-packed show revolves around two elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia (Priyanka Chopra) of the global spy agency Citadel.
