Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh’s ‘RRKPK’ Continues Glorious Run At Box Office, Enters Rs 100 Crore Club
Latest Bollywood Box Office Report: Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s new Hindi movie, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.
Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ continued to draw crowds to cinemas during its second weekend. The new Hindi movie, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, opened to positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. After recording a good opening weekend, the Bollywood film witnessed a dip on its first Monday. But that didn’t stop it from entering the Rs 50 crore club within just four days of its release. And the new Hindi movie seems to be unstoppable at the box office as it now entered the Rs 100 crore club.
Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ on Twitter.

As per Taran Adarsh, ‘RRKPK’ collected Rs 6.75 crore on its second Friday. It went on to mint Rs 11.50 crore on its second Saturday and added Rs 13.50 crore to its total collection on Sunday. The film’s current total stands at Rs 105.08 crore.
This is an impressive feat to achieve as ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is facing competition from Hollywood movies like Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ and Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’.
‘RRKPK’, which released in theatres on July 28, is the sixth Hindi movie to enter the Rs 100 crore club in 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkar’ , Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, Adah Sharma’s ‘The Kerala Story’ and Prabhas’s magnum opus ‘Adipurush’.
The new Hindi movie, also starring Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra, showed an impressive second weekend hold with a drop of just 30 per cent as compared to its opening weekend, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
It remains to be seen how it will perform after the release of Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ on August 11.
‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ also stars Tota Roy Choudhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog and Anjali Anand.
Penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, the new Hindi movie also features cameos from Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday.
It revolves around two opposites, Rocky (played by Ranveer Singh) and Rani (played by Alia Bhatt), who fall in love but their families clash with each other due to cultural differences. They decide to switch their homes in the movie to know if they are compatible with each other’s families.
The new Hindi movie is Karan Johar's first big-screen directorial since 2016's ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
