'Oppenheimer' does better than 'Barbie' in opening weekend in India.

'Oppenheimer', 'Barbie' and 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' have ensured that the money keeps coming in at the Indian box office for new Hollywood movies. Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' fared better than the other two releases as it collected Rs 49 crore over three days, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. The Cillian Murphy-starrer collected Rs 14.5 crore on Friday, and followed it up with Rs 17.25 crore each on Saturday and Sunday.

With the opening of Rs 14.5 crore on Friday, 'Oppenheimer' recorded the biggest-opener for Hollywood in India in 2023, beating the likes of 'Mission: Impossible 7' and 'Barbie'.

Talking about Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie,' starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in lead roles, the new Hollywood movie collected Rs 18.5 crore over the opening weekend.

'Barbie' collected Rs 5 crore on Friday and followed it up with Rs 6.5 crore and 7 crore on Saturday and Sunday. For the unversed, 'Barbie' has released on lesser number of screens as compared to 'Oppenheimer' in India.

Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible 7' has till now collected more than Rs 90 crore in India, and hence it has become the highest-grosser for the actor in India.

Talking about worldwide collections, 'Barbie' is outperforming 'Oppenheimer'.

'Barbie' has registered biggest debut of 2023 with a collection of USD 155 million, while Nolan's R-rated 'Oppenheimer' collected a remarkable USD 80.5 million in the opening weekend in USA.

The Christopher Nolan directorial revolves around J. Robert Oppenheimer (Murphy), who famously led the Manhattan Project — the effort to create an atomic bomb during World War II.

The new Hollywood movie has a star-studded cast, including Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Robert Downey Jr, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, and Michael Angarano among others.

Talking about 'Barbie', the movie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, and Will Ferrell.

In the new Hollywood movie, Margot Robbie plays the titular character while Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu feature as the Ken dolls.
