Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Fighter’ Eyes Rs 150 Crore Club In India, Crosses Rs 250 Crore Globally
Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’, which marks Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s maiden collaboration, will likely cross the Rs 150 crore mark today.
‘Fighter’, the aerial action film starring Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor, hit theatres on January 25 and enjoyed an extended Republic Day weekend. Despite getting positive reviews from audiences and critics alike, ‘Fighter’ is struggling to rule the box office. The new Hindi movie, directed by Siddharth Anand of ‘War’ and ‘Pathaan’ fame, witnessed further drop in its collection on Thursday, February 1. ‘Fighter’, co-starring Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjeeda Shaikh, earned Rs 5.75 crore in India on its eighth day (first Thursday) in cinemas.
With this, the first week collection of the new Hindi movie stands at Rs 146.25 crore, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. The Siddharth Anand directorial will likely cross the Rs 150 crore mark in India today.
At the global box office, ‘Fighter’ has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark in seven days. Marflix Pictures, one of the production houses behind the new Hindi movie, shared the update on Instagram.

When you compare the collection of ‘Fighter’ in India to underperformers like Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’, and Salman Khan's ‘Tiger 3’, the collections of the new Hindi movie are noticeably low.
‘Dunki’ had collected Rs 152 crore in seven days, while ‘Tiger 3’ had made Rs 214 crore in the first seven days.
Earlier, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had also given his take on the shocking business of ‘Fighter’ in India, despite good reviews and positive word-of-mouth.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Taran Adarsh wrote, “‘FIGHTER’ SHOCKS INDIA, ROCKS OVERSEAS… The underperformance of #Fighter has sent shock waves within the industry… Imagine, the film ticks all the boxes - right from star names and director’s credentials to tremendous critical acclaim and positive audience feedback… Yet, the dwindling numbers in #India are a complete shocker.”
“To face a setback at the very start of the year is indeed worrisome. Having said that, while the numbers are witnessing a downward trend in #India, the biz in key international markets continue to be strong, even on weekdays… Markets like #USA, #Canada, #Australia and #NZ are still holding fort, even after an excellent weekend. How does one explain this paradox,” he added.
‘Fighter’ is the second consecutive film for Hrithik Roshan which has had an underwhelming performance at the box office, despite a positive word of mouth. His last release ‘Vikram Vedha’ tanked at the box office, after earning just Rs 78.66 crore in India.
‘Fighter’, presented by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, is the third collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’. The new Hindi movie is also the third collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Anand after ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Pathaan’.
