Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's 'Mr & Mrs Mahi' witnessed a jump in its collections on Sunday.

Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi', which marks their second collaboration, witnessed a jump in its collections on Sunday. And as a result, the new Hindi movie has registered a decent opening weekend collection. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' minted Rs 5.50 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. The three-day nett domestic collection of the new Hindi movie, directed by Sharan Sharma, now stands at Rs 16.85 crore.

On Sunday, 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' had an overall 22.24 per cent Hindi occupancy. For the unversed, the movie's box office collection got a big push on Friday (May 31) as it was released on Cinema Lovers Day, with ticket prices slashed to Rs 99.

'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' had opened to a collection of Rs 6.75 crore, and then on Saturday, the film collected Rs 4.65 crore.

'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' tells the love story of a couple, who find love, after discovering their passion for the sport of cricket. The film has a reported budget of Rs 40 crore, hence, the movie needs to maintain its pace over the weekdays. It remains to be seen whether the film aces the Monday test or not.

Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, the new Hindi movie also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Purnendu Bhattacharya.

'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' is helmed by Sharan Sharma, who made his directorial debut with ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, which starred Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.

Talking about Rajkummar Rao's 'Srikanth', which was released in cinemas on May 10, collected Rs 1.40 crore on Sunday, the 24th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 44.30 crore.

For the unversed, 'Srikanth' also stars Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar and Jyotika. In the film, Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment.

'Srikanth' had recorded an opening weekend collection of Rs 11.7 crore.
