‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ Hits Half Century At Domestic Box Office
Latest Bollywood Box Office Report: Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ entered the Rs 50 crore club despite witnessing a slight dip on Monday.
Karan Johar’s new directorial venture ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ continued to draw crowds to cinemas on its first Monday. The new Hindi movie, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, opened to positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. After recording a good opening weekend, the Bollywood film witnessed a dip on its first Monday. But that didn’t stop it from entering the Rs 50 crore club within just four days of its release, as per the latest Bollywood movie news. It earned Rs 7.02 crore on Monday, according to Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
As per the latest Bollywood movie news, this brings the new Hindi movie’s total collection to Rs 52.92 crore in four days. Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ on Twitter.

This is an impressive feat to achieve as ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is facing competition from Hollywood movies like Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ and Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’.
The new Hindi movie, which released in theatres on July 28, minted Rs 45.90 crore during its first weekend. ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ collected Rs 11.10 crore on Friday. The family entertainer recorded a significant jump in its box office collection on Saturday and Sunday, minting Rs 16.05 crore and Rs 18.75 crore, respectively.
‘RRKPK’ recorded the fourth highest weekend collections of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’, Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ and Prabhas’s magnum opus ‘Adipurush’.
It is likely to outperform other family romantic comedy dramas of 2023 including Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan’s ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ (Rs 87 crore) and Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani’s ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’ (Rs 83 crore).
It remains to be seen whether ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ will be able to beat the highest grossing film of the year in the same genre – Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkar’, which had minted Rs 149 crore.
It also remains to be seen how it will perform after the release of Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ on August 11.
Besides Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ also stars Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Tota Roy Choudhury and Churni Ganguly.
Penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, the new Hindi movie also features cameos from Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday.
‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, a full-blown family entertainer, revolves around two opposites, Rocky (played by Ranveer Singh) and Rani (played by Alia Bhatt), who fall in love but their families clash with each other due to cultural differences. They decide to switch their homes in the movie to know if they are compatible with each other’s families.
The new Hindi movie is Karan Johar's first big-screen directorial since 2016's ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
