'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' Box Office Day 1: Randeep Hooda's Film Facing Tough Competition From Kunal Kemmu's 'Madgaon Express'

'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' is facing tough competition from Kunal Kemmu's directorial debut 'Madgaon Express'.

Randeep Hooda and Ankita Lokhande-starrer 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' was released in cinemas on Friday, March 22, and in the latest entertainment news, the film has opened to polarising reactions. However, Randeep Hooda is receiving immense praise for his acting performance. In the latest box office news, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' minted Rs 1.15 crore on the opening day of its release. The film had an overall 15.40 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday.

The biographical drama has been released in Hindi all over India and also in Marathi in Mumbai. The film stars Randeep Hooda as Veer Savarkar and Ankita Lokhande as Yamuna Bai. However, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' is facing tough competition from 'Madgoan Express', 'Yodha'and 'Shaitaan' at the box office. 

Speaking of Kunal Kemmu's directorial debut 'Madgaon Express', starring Avinash Tiwary, Divyendu Sharma and Pratik Gandhi, the film also released in cinemas on Friday, March 22. As per Sacnilk, the film made Rs 1.50 crore on the opening day of its release.

'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' and 'Madgoan Express' are expected to witness a rise in collections due to the long weekend with the festival of Holi around the corner. 

Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, and Disha Patani-starrer 'Yodha', which was released last Friday made Rs 1 crore on Friday, which was the 8th day of its release. As per Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 26.25 crore.

Lastly, Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotika-starrer 'Shaitaan', which was released on March 8, still continues to go strong at the box office. As per Sacnilk, the new Hindi film made Rs 2.35 crore on Friday, which was the 15th day of its release.

The total nett domestic collection of 'Shaitaan' has now risen to Rs 116.65 crore.
