‘Bad Newz’ Registers Bigger Opening Weekend Than ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ And ‘Chandu Champion’

‘Bad Newz’ has registered a bigger opening weekend than ‘Chandu Champion’ and ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’.

Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk’s ‘Bad Newz’ registered its biggest single-day haul on Sunday, the third day of its release. As a result, the new Hindi movie has registered a bigger opening weekend than films like Kartik Aaryan’s 'Chandu Champion' and Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’. As per early estimates posted by Sacnilk, 'Bad Newz' minted Rs 11.25 crore on Sunday. On the third day of its release, 'Bad Newz' had an overall Hindi occupancy of 28.78 per cent.

The three-day nett domestic collection of 'Bad Newz' now stands at Rs 29.70 crore. ‘Bad Newz’, directed by Anand Tiwari and backed by Karan Johar, minted Rs 8.30 crore on Friday. On Saturday, the film made Rs 10.25 crore.

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' minted Rs 27.10 crore in its opening weekend, while Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion' collected Rs 21.50 crore in its first weekend, as per Sacnilk.

For the unversed, 'Bad Newz' is based on a biological phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation.

Coming to Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira', released in cinemas on July 12, minted Rs 1.25 crore on Sunday, the tenth day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the new Hindi film now stands at Rs 21.25 crore.

'Sarfira' was released in cinemas alongside Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2', directed by Shankar. The new Tamil film minted Rs 2 crore on Sunday, the tenth day of its release, as per Sacnilk. The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 75.48 crore, across all languages.

Coming to Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the pan-India film minted Rs 8.40 crore on Sunday (25th day of its release), as per Sacnilk. The total domestic film collection now stands at Rs 616.85 crore.

'Kalki 2898 AD' has now become the third highest-grossing South Indian movie at the Hindi box office ahead of SS Rajamouli’s 'RRR'. Kalki 2898 AD's Hindi version has so far made Rs 275.90 crore, and it went past 'RRR' as it had made Rs 272 crore in the Hindi language.

Lastly, speaking of Raghav Juyal and Lakshya's 'Kill', which has been backed by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, minted Rs 1 crore on Sunday (the 17th day of its release). As per Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of the film currently stands at Rs 20.10 crore.
