Sidharth Malhotra's 'Yodha' Sees Marginal Jump, Ajay Devgn's 'Shaitaan' Nears Rs 100 Crore Mark

'Yodha', starring Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, and Disha Patani, which was released in cinemas on March 15, witnessed a marginal jump in collections on Saturday. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the new Hindi film, which is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, minted Rs 5.75 crore on Saturday, which was the second day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of 'Yodha' now stands at Rs 9.85 crore.
On Saturday, 'Yodha' had an overall 18.83 per cent occupancy, as per Sacnilk.
For the unversed, 'Yodha' has been directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. The action thriller film follows Arun Katyal (Sidharth), the commanding officer of an elite unit, the Yodha Task Force, on a thrilling rescue operation. The film has been produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
Sidharth Malhotra is searching for his first box-office hit since 2016's 'Kapoor & Sons'. As of now, it looks highly unlikely that 'Yodha' would emerge as a box-office success.
Speaking of Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika's 'Shaitaan', which was released on March 8, minted Rs 8 crore on Saturday, which was the 9th day of its release. As per Sacnilk, the total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 92.80 crore. 'Shaitaan' will be entering the Rs 100 crore club today.
Adah Sharma's 'Bastar: The Naxal Story' is continuing to struggle at the box office after the film minted just Rs 0.75 crore on Saturday, the second day of its release. The total nett collection of the film now stands at Rs 1.15 crore, as per Sacnilk.
Even the Hollywood film 'Kung Fu Panda 4' is racing ahead of 'Bastar: The Naxal Story'. As per Sacnilk, the new Hollywood film collected Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday, taking the two-day total to Rs 6 crore.
