Disney and Pixar's 'Inside Out 2' has beaten 'Dune 2' to become the highest-grossing movie of 2024.
It has taken just two weeks for Disney and Pixar's 'Inside Out 2' to emerge as the highest-grossing movie of 2024. The sequel to 2015's 'Inside Out' has generated USD 355 million in North America and USD 724 million globally to date, as per Variety. In the latest entertainment news, the new Hollywood film has now gone past 'Dune 2', which was released in cinemas in March 2024. For the unversed, 'Dune 2' has made USD 711 million worldwide. If the current trend is anything to go by, then 'Inside Out' is all set to become the first movie of 2024 to cross USD 1 billion mark, worldwide.
Earlier, 'Inside Out 2' had collected a massive USD 155 million in its first weekend of release, overtaking 'Dune: Part Two' (USD 82.5 million) and 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' (USD 80 million).
As a result, 'Inside Out 2' recorded the biggest opening of the year. It also became the first movie since 2023's 'Barbie' to debut above USD 100 million, as reported by Variety.
The sequel to 2015's 'Inside Out' was expected to collect USD 80-90 million, but the new Hollywood movie exceeded everyone's expectations.

Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kensington Tallman are the newcomers to the cast.
The new Hollywood movie tells the story of Riley's emotions as they find themselves joined by new emotions that want to take over Riley's head.
Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has voiced Riley in the Hindi version of 'Inside Out 2'.
In an official statement, Ananya Panday said, "I have always been such a huge fan of Disney and Pixar animated films, these stories transport you to a world that is so entertaining and yet relatable at the same time."
"I remember being a teenager myself when I saw Inside Out a few years ago and being so mesmerized by this wonderful world of colourful emotions, never imagining in my wildest dreams that one day I would be an integral part of such a novel story!
