Here's When James Cameron's 'Avatar 3' Will Release
The release dates of 'Avatar 3 and 'Deadpool 3' have been revealed.
Disney has shaken up its release calendar, as it has added a new 'Star Wars' movie and 'Moana' live-action adaptation to the schedule. As a result, the next three 'Avatar' movies have been delayed. And at this rate, the fifth installment of 'Avatar' is now expected to release in 2031, eight years from now.
'Avatar 3' has been shifted to December 19, 2025 while the fourth and fifth installments will be releasing on December 21, 2029 and December 19, 2031 respectively.
At this current timeline, the final 'Avatar' movie will be releasing 22 years after the original 2009 blockbuster.
“Each ‘Avatar’ film is an exciting but epic undertaking that takes time to bring to the quality level we as filmmakers strive for and audiences have come to expect. The team is hard at work and can’t wait to bring audiences back to Pandora in December 2025," producer Jon Landau wrote on Twitter.
As per Variety, 'Moana' will be releasing on June 27, 2025 and 'Deadpool 3' starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will hit the theatres on May 3, 2024.
'Captain America: Brave New World' has now been moved from May 3, 2024, to July 26, 2024.
'Avengers: The Kang Dynasty' has been pushed back an entire year, and instead of releasing on May 2, 2025, it will now release on May 1, 2026.
'Avengers: Secret Wars' hence has jumped from May 1, 2026 to May 7, 2027.
With the addition of a new 'Star Wars' film in December 2026, it means that the two movies set in a galaxy far, far away will be releasing in the same year -- 2026. However, Disney has not clarified premises of any of these installments.
