Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' and Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' will be releasing in theatres on July 21. Audiences will be treated to two movies, hailing from completely different genres, and it needs to be seen which new Hollywood movie manages to make more money at the box office. In terms of advance booking in India for the opening day, 'Oppenheimer' starring Cillian Murphy has managed to sell 90,000 tickets so far.

As per Pinkvilla journalist Himesh Mankad, 'Oppenheimer' has sold 90,000 tickets across three multiple-screen chains of PVR, INOX and Cinepolis for the opening day while 'Barbie' starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has sold just 16,000 tickets so far.

However, when one talks about worldwide sales, 'Barbie' is way ahead of 'Oppenheimer' at this point of time, and Greta Gerwig's movie is expected to get a bigger opening than 'Oppenheimer'.

For the unversed, a phrase called 'Barbenheimer' has been trending on social media since last week. The term is basically being used by those fans who will see both 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' on the same day.

Several memes and reels have surfaced in which people are showing off their quick outfit change before seeing both movies on the same day.

Oppenheimer, which is going to have a box office clash with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s ‘Barbie’, is based on the Pulitzer Prize–winning biography ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer’.

The Christopher Nolan directorial revolves around J. Robert Oppenheimer (Murphy), who famously led the Manhattan Project — the effort to create an atomic bomb during World War II.

The new Hollywood movie has a star-studded cast, including Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Robert Downey Jr, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, and Michael Angarano among others.

Talking about 'Barbie', the movie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, and Will Ferrell.

In the new Hollywood movie, Margot Robbie will play the titular character while Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu will feature as the Ken dolls.
