With this, the Hollywood flick has become the fastest this year to cross the USD 1 billion mark at the global box office. Just three films this year have managed to mint more than USD 1 billion and these are -- 'Avatar: The Way Of Water', 'Jurassic World Dominion' and 'Top Gun: Maverick'.

'Avatar: The Way Of Water' is the fastest to hit the USD 1 billion mark since 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'.

As per Variety, 'Top Gun: Maverick' took 31 days to cross USD 1 billion mark while 'Jurassic Park Dominion' took more than four months to achieve this milestone.

A total of nine movies had crossed the USD 1 billion mark at the box office in 2019.

Only six movies in the history of cinema have crossed the coveted USD 1 billion mark in their first two weeks of release.

'Avatar: The Way Of Water' has already crossed 'Jurassic World Dominion' as the second-highest grossing movie of 2022 and it is also the third-highest of the pandemic era.
