Amitabh Bachchan's first look from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, co-starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and others, has been unveiled.
Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is one of the most-anticipated Indian movies of 2024. And the excitement is building up among viewers for director Nag Ashwin's upcoming epic sci-fi dystopian film. The makers have finally unveiled the first look of Amitabh Bachchan's character from the upcoming Indian movie. The first look video of Amitabh Bachchan’s character opened with him, seated in a cave, praying to a Shiva linga.
In the background, one can hear calming music. A child's voice then asks him, “Can you not die? Are you divine? Who are you?”
Amitabh Bachchan then declares, “Since ancient times, I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar. I am Guru Drona’s son. Ashwatthama.”

On Sunday, Amitabh Bachhchan had written on X (formerly Twitter), “It’s been an experience for me like no other. The mind to think such a product, the execution, the exposure to modern technology and above all the company of colleagues with stratospheric Super star presence.”

Amitabh Bachchan's first look was unveiled before the start of Sunday's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
Earlier, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ director Nag Ashwin had said that the film will be an extraordinary visual spectacle.
While addressing the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon recently, Nag Ashwin had said, “I just wish that there was more tech to help us make this film, like three-four years back when we were in preproduction. We are creating this new world like… I am just looking at this picture right now on the screen, and all these different worlds that we are trying to create, we work with so many different concept artists and giving prompts, obviously, again, in a very personal, one-on-one sort of way, and try to give references and build this world.”
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been bankrolled by C Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies.
The music for the pan-India film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the film would be released globally on May 9, 2024. However, it looks like that the film has been postponed, and a new release date is awaited.
