Chennai Police has booked actor Mansoor Ali Khan for his comment against actress Trisha Krishnan.

The controversy surrounding Mansoor Ali Khan and his remark against Trisha Krishnan, is not dying anytime soon. In a fresh development, Mansoor Ali Khan has been booked by the Tamil Nadu police for his alleged derogatory remarks against his 'Leo' co-star. As per a report in The Hindu, Chennai Police has booked Mansoor Ali Khan as per the direction of the National Commission For Women. The actor has been booked under Sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage modesty of woman) of the Indian Penal Code, as reported by The Hindu.

Earlier, Khushbu Sundar, who is an actress, BJP MP and NCW member, had vowed to take action against Mansoor.

"As a member of NCW, I have already taken up the issue of Mansoor Ali Khan with my senior and will be taking an action on it. Nobody can get away with such a filthy mind. I stand with @trishtrashers and my other colleagues where this man speaks in such a sexist disgusting mindset about them, including me. When we are fighting tooth and nail to protect women and bring dignity to them, such men are like a bot in our society," she wrote on X.

For the unversed, the entire matter started after Mansoor Ali Khan said that he has done many rape scenes with heroines in his career, but in 'Leo', he was not even able to get a glimpse of his co-star Trisha Krishnan. This statement sent shockwaves through the entire South film industry, and Trisha vowed to never work with Mansoor again.

However, Mansoor Ali Khan refused to apologise for his objectionable comments about Trisha Krishnan and other actresses.

In a fresh press conference, announced that he will not be saying sorry as there was nothing wrong with what he had said. He also claimed that his statement was misconstrued.

Earlier, Trisha had also slammed the actor for his comments. "A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind," she said.
