Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, known for movies like ‘Aavesham’, ‘Vikram’, ‘Joji’, and ‘Kumbalangi Nights’, is arguably one of the greatest artists India has ever produced. The popular Malayalam actor is currently enjoying all the praise that is coming his way for his latest release ‘Aavesham’. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the new Malayalam movie has so far made Rs 80.7 crore in India. In a recent interview with Film Companion's Anupama Chopra, Fahadh Faasil had some really good things to say about Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

“Rajkummar Rao is one of the finest actors India has ever produced. Ranbir, I think, best actor in the country,” Fahadh Faasil said in an interview with Film Companion.

Speaking about Vicky Kaushal in the same interview, Fahadh Faasil said, “I and lot of my friends here believe that Vicky Kaushal is the find of the decade.”

During the same interview, Fahadh Faasil also said that Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ did not do much for him.

“No, I don’t think Pushpa did anything for me. I tell Sukumar sir that. I don’t have to hide it. I have to be honest. I am doing my stuff here. No disrespect to anything. People expect magic from me after Pushpa… no. It’s pure collaboration and love for Sukumar Sir. My stuff is here (Malayalam cinema). Very clearly, my stuff is here. That’s one,” he said.

When asked whether he sees himself as a pan-India star, Fahadh Faasil said, “No. I am just an actor here. I have nothing to do with pan-India and whatever. I just do things that I believe in. The film should do business, that’s secondary. But the film that I do here… I mean I can never do it anywhere else. I can easily set up a film in Tamil, but everything will fall into place except the idea. I assume that will be the case in Hindi as well.”

He also said that Karan Johar always calls him after watching his movies, and also talks about specific scenes.

“I like that pan-India. I love that bonding. Nothing beyond that,” he said.

Fahadh Faasil will next be seen in Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The movie is slated to be released in cinemas on August 15, 2024.
