Golden Globes 2023: 'RRR' directed by SS Rajamouli got 2 nominations at the 2023 event
'RRR' is continuing to get the love in the west and the movie has now become the first Telugu film to be nominated in any category at the Golden Globes Awards. The Hollywood Press Association has given the movie two nominations -- Best Picture-Non English Language and Best Original Song For 'Naatu Naatu'. These nominations come as huge news for the movie, which is hoping to get itself some nominations at the Oscars 2023 as well.
After getting the nominations, 'RRR' director SS Rajamouli was not able to hold back his excitement and took to Twitter to thank the Golden Globes jury.
"Thanks to the jury at @goldenglobes for nominating #RRRMovie in two categories. Congratulations to the entire team…Thanks to all the fans and audience for your unconditional love and support through out," Rajamouli tweeted.

Thanks to all the fans and audience for your unconditional love and support through out.
Earlier, Rajamouli had bagged the Best Director Award for 'RRR' at the New York Film Critics Circle. Rajamouli defeated the likes of Steven Spielberg, Darron Aronofsky, Sarah Polley, and Gina Prince-Blythewood to take home the big prize.
However, it is important to mention that 'RRR' was not picked as India's official entry for the Oscars 2023. The film was a raging success at the box office in India and it emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in the country. 'RRR' had released across the globe in multiple languages -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
The movie had quite an audience when it started streaming on Netflix and many A-list Hollywood stars have appreciated the Telugu film for its scale and ambition.
The movie was Rajamouli's first project after the 2017 smash-hit 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'. Apart from Ram Charan and Jr NTR, 'RRR' also starred Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson.
